The Tower is a pretty house built of mellow stone
and set in front a tiny hilltop village between Lucca and Pistoia
(600 meters above sea level) part of a huge stone building dating
back to the 1200's - and which was a Ghibelline defense. The Ghibellines
who sided with the holy roman Emperor fought against the Guelphs
who supported the Pope over the right to rule the northern part
of Italy. In the Castle there are two apartments the Fairy and the
Elf. Its name derived from the utensils that the inhabitants made
lances.
In the upper part of the village you can admire the church, which
lost its Romanesque features when it was rebuilt before 1638 and
adopted the Baroque style. Nearby the original guard tower has been
transformed into the present day bell tower, and you have to imagine
another tower below the village which is only a ruin after it collapsed
during WWI.
La Torre
The Manor is surrounded by miles of woodland
where you can enjoy long walks and the whole area is a patchwork of

The area makes a good base for touring being with easy driving distance

It is also a wonderful place to stay with the opportunity of nice
