Holidays in Puglia

One of the most fascinating Italian regions is,
without doubt, Puglia. Its colours that go from the deeper reds
of the soils, to the greens of the triumphant olive trees, that
have majestically stood on their articulated trunks for centuries,
to the greens of the vines and of the rich orchards, to the oranges
and greens of fruit trees, to the deep blue of the sea that blends
with the sky, the reds and greens of flowering cacti and to the
white of the houses, with their colourful flowers, are unique and
unforgettable.

At a height of about 250 metres above sea level,
Ostuni, part of the Itria Valley, that is spreading over the top
in the sloping seven hills mostly covered by the green of the olive-grove
and vineyard. Its territory is stretching from the borders of the
eastern Murgia to the Adriatic, with a sequence of extraordinarily
beautiful landscapes.
Six kilometres away, a flash of blue announces the Adriatic, a friendly
sea, fabulously calm and clear, a long chain of beauty spots on
the 20km of coast, an unbroken line of golden sandy beaches, little
bays edged with luxuriant Mediterranean maquis, flooded with light,
watched over by the towers along the coast on which flies the European
"clean water" flag.
We find that same beauty of nature in the inhabitants of the region,
that have the great quality of laboriousness, which has been the
first step towards developing excellent receptivity services in
this rich land of art and natural beauties. Puglia can also be visited
during the winter: its Christmas traditions are very interesting
and relaxing opportunity for every traveller.

The Sights
Trani, with its Cathedral, which is one
of the most beautiful examples of the Romanic era in Puglia, and,
generally, one of the most impressive churches in Italy, is definitely
worth visiting. Designed in an ideal scenographic position, it is
testimony of the splendour of the Middle Ages. Another masterpiece
of the same period is The Castle of Trani, constructed by Frederick
II in 1233, and completed in 1249 together with Castel del Monte,
an octagonal fortification built in the XII Century by the same emperor
as a hunting reserve. In the area of Salento, the city of Lecce,
with its Baroque style (from which comes the name of the city), and
its beautiful coast, testimonies the gentleness of the place and the
artistic tradition that is present in each town, as well as in the
countryside. |

This wonderful villa is one of the Saracen towers, so-called for its
history and shape. Belonging to the house are 10.000 m² of land
with ancient olive trees. Also almond trees, fruit trees and other
plants you find on the property. The Trullo has been restored with
taste and comfortably sleeps 7 guests. It is a short distance from
the enchanting city of Ostuni and the beach.
