Villa in Syracuse Sicily

Please accept my apologies for not writing to you sooner
The Villa Smeraldi and the weather were perfect. We visited Ragusa as you recommended and as you said, it is a beautiful town. Ortygia was very impressive. We would like to see it again when the restoration of the cathedral and other buildings is complete. And we enjoyed the food and wine but did not eat out as often as we had intended because the house was so nice. It was very relaxing to cook for ourselves and not have to drive back after a meal. I'm a birdwatcher so I enjoyed just staying in the garden. Thank you again for your help and advice, and thank Mario, and in particular, Piero for meeting us and showing us to the Villa.

Tell him is English is OK, much, much better than our Italian. I must apologise for our lack of Italian. Hopefully it will be a bit better next time. Of course a week is not long enough, so I'm sure we will be coming back. Thanks again for letting us live in your home and giving us a fantastic holiday
